Yes, everyone has a cell phone today. I can remember about 5-6 years ago, only us geeks and business folks had a cell phone. Now, it is more difficult to find anyone that doesn’t have one. You see farmers, grandparents, teenagers, priests, soccer moms, etc. with one. And they all have their own ringtones. And they all are annoying. What’s wrong with just a ‘beep’? Or, I have my phone programmed with what sounds like a standard office phone ring, circa 1983 (because the 80s are cool now).
Plus, since you can download practically any song or sound as a ringtone, people like Sprint PCS make a killing off of ‘em. At least in the case of Sprint, they charge $1 per ringtone and its only good for 90 days. That’s ridiculous! No wonder you can get any song as a ringtone.
Hopefully, you won’t be the idiot next to me at a restaurant that has NKOTB as a ringtone.
